Government investment in dementia research

The UK government and several government and public bodies including the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), Medical Research Council (MRC) and the UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI) have made investments in dementia research over the years.

These investments, and the government’s commitment to double dementia research funding to £160 million by 2024, reflect the UK’s ambition to address the challenge of dementia and bring about a life-changing treatment for those living with dementia.
